SHAKER PINES STATION 25 BACON ROAD
Chief Charles Macsata 749-8552 Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Nolan
-The Shaker Pines Station is located in the North East Corner of Enfield. Located to the front of the Hall Mark Cards Corp. Main Enfield Complex, the station is manned by Local 3059 members from 0800hrs to 1700hrs Monday thru Friday. The companies operating out of Bacon Road protect a large area of residential, commercial, and correctional occupancies. Originaly started in 1942 the fire department operated out of a station at the entrance to the Shaker Pines Lake community. In the early 1980's the Station absorbed the "Cresent Lake" station and the tiny cluster of homes located around the Lake located on the Mass / CT border. The station is proud to protect the 2 lake communities in Enfield made up of converted sumer cottages. The district was originaly home to a group of 18th and 19th religious disidents known as Shakers. The Shakers created the 2 large lakes by damning a brook running from Massachusettes. Now the area that was home to the Shaker "Farm Families" is used to house the largest concentration of correctional inmates in the State of CT. On any given day the members of Loca 3059 working out of Bacon Rd. along with thier Volunteer counterparts may respond to a single family dwelling fire, ice rescue, prison riot, or manufacturing complex fire.
